Tapaustutkimus eli Case Study

Alkuperäinen teksti julkaistu Energiaa -verkkolehdessä, Osaaminen 22.9.2021 Tapaustutkimus eli Case Study Case Study eli tapaustutkimus, on tutkimusta, jossa keskitytään nimensä mukaisesti johonkin yksittäiseen tai muutamaan yksittäiseen tapaukseen (Saaranen-Kauppinen & Puusniekka 2006). (Aaltio 2014). Tyypillisesti tavoitteena on ilmiöiden kuvailu (Hirsjärvi, Remes & Sajavaara 1997, 123). Quantitative Research – Types of Measurement Scales

First published in the online magazine Energiaa 15.9.2021.  Keywords: quantitative research, research, research method, statistical methods Quantitative Research – Types of Measurement Scales Many of us avoid using a quantitative research method because it sounds challenging if working with numbers is unfamiliar. However, the quantitative method can be learned when you know what things to look out. I will try to give a few guidelines that have helped me understand what this research method is about and what topics I need to consider. Permalink http://urn.fi/URN:NBN:fi-fe2021091546214 First, we must have a research problem to which we want an answer. Then we collect data when conducting quantitative research. Data are numbers that have some meaning. Those numbers might represent example age, exam marks, work, or indeed almost anything you ask for. (Brace, Kemp & Snelgar 2003, 4). To...

Banhari (2021) defines that: "Quantitative research is the process of collecting and analyzing numerical data. It can be used to find patterns and averages, make predictions, test causal relationships, and generalize results to wider populations." (Banhari, P. 2021. An introduction to quantitative research ?)
